Executive Summary

This report was written to provide recommendations as to how best to implement ICT into a middle-school setting. To do this, it considers reports from various sources, including research into theory and practical application, usage and implementation from around the world, and the potential issues introduced by ICT in education.

The school may face opposition from some parents regarding the use of digital devices in the classroom, and these arguments are considered in this report.

The results of this report’s recommendations are that digital technology provides many opportunities to improve education if it is properly managed and applied. Simply putting computers and robotics into classrooms doesn’t lead to better learning by itself, and can be harmful if incorrectly used, but with the proper pedagogies it can enhance learning and improve 21st century skills.
