Recomendations
This report makes the following recommendations based on the discussed evidence:
Over the next year:
-
The school should move to a policy of BYOD, having devices available for students who either can’t afford their own devices or who forget to bring them.
-
This should be done in consultation with the parents/carers, outlining the benefits to the children’s education
-
-
The school should begin professional development courses for all teachers in relation to TPaCK, online safety, and project-based learning.
-
The school should continue using EdModo, encouraging more parents/carers to join, and replace the 'Like' cards, currently used to acknowledge good behaviour, with RedCritter for student feedback.
Over the next two to three years:
-
The school should redesign the classroom environments to meet the needs of flexible, learner-centred, creative spaces.
-
The school should grow relationships with other schools across the country and around the world for the purposes of online collaboration and project sharing.
-
The school should grow relationships with the local community and industry.
-
The school should expand the robotics lab to increase opportunities for students to have hands-on practice with both design and computational thinking.
Over the next five years:
-
The school should establish an online learning space, supplementing regular classes to assist at-need students and help extend the more advanced. This workload can be shared across several schools.
-
The school should invest in Virtual and Augmented Reality technology with a view to creative design and working collaboratively in a VR space.
